Kelly Kennedy Photography | F.A.Q's

When choosing a photographer for you and your family, it can be difficult, as there are many different styles.   Most photographers have a certain style and approach to their art. It's important for you to make sure that I have a style as well as prices that fit what you are looking for. Please take a look through my galleries to get a feel for the kind of images you can expect from Kelly Kennedy Photography. I strive to offer my clients an enjoyable, relaxed and most importantly, fun session that focuses on you and your family. I only schedule one-two sessions per day, to ensure you get the best possible attention to detail. The results will be portraits that you will cherish a lifetime!

Do you offer digital files?
Yes, 20 professionally edited images are included with your session.

What is the best way to book a session with you?

How long does a session last?
Creativity for lifestyle photography can not be rushed. Please plan for 1-1.5 hours for your portrait session. Due to the relaxed nature, Newborn sessions can last up to 4 hours.

What if the weather is bad on the day of my session?
Because most of my sessions are done on location using natural light, sessions may have to be rescheduled if the weather is questionable. Should this happen, I will contact you right away, and will work with you to find another time to reschedule. I am always in touch with you a few days before your session date to confirm details and location. I am always happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

My child has a scratch on his face. Should l reschedule?
(Minor) Retouching of scratches, blemishes, red blotches, etc. is included in your portrait session fee. However, if your child has a serious cut or bruise, we may need to reschedule. Should this happen, please contact me as soon as possible.

What form of payments to you accept?
I currently accept, cash, check or credit cards as well as paypal. You may make checks payable to Kelly Kennedy Photography.

What if we would like to order more images at a later time?
All images from your session will be kept on file for one year from the time of your session. Your online gallery will be available for 2 weeks after they are posted.

Can I scan the pictures print proofs from the computer after I order them?
Absolutely not. Kelly Kennedy Photography retains copyright of all the images taken at your session. Scanning or printing images from your session are a violation of federal copyright law (even after you have purchased them). Scanning is not only illegal, but screen-printed and scanned images distort and devalue my work. Please respect my work and livelihood, and do not reproduce any of the images from your session.

Can I post images from my session on facebook?
Absolutely! If you have purchased the digital file they are yours to post in your online galleries. I only ask that you give me credit for the images and post Kelly Kennedy Photography or alongside your uploaded images or album. Since I am tagging you in your sneak peek, your image will show up on your wall. If you would like to use the low resolution image from that sneak peek as your profile, please be sure to give credit to the photographer and do not alter the image or crop the watermark (logo). These images are watermarked and not suitable for printing.

When is the best time for my maternity pictures?
I typically suggest around the 32 mark, to allow your belly to be present, but not so large you’re uncomfortable.

I am about to have a baby.  When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?
To ensure you get your choice of dates, please contact me in your last trimester, to schedule your newborn session. The best time frame to capture the "newness" of your little one is within the first 14 days.

After the newborn session, when is the next stage that I should schedule to have you photograph my baby?
(The baby plan consists of 3, 6, 9 and 12 month age sessions)

If you already had a newborn session with Kelly Kennedy Photography, you may schedule for an additional fee, your baby's milestones with the "Watch Me Grow" baby plan. This next session would be some time around your child's 3 month birthday.
*if you did not have a newborn session, we can start with the baby plan at 3 months.
** if your baby was photographed between 5-10 weeks, this could count as your first session in the baby plan, if you wish to go that route.

What can I expect from the baby plan sessions?
During your baby's 3 month session, we focus on the "baby parts" if you had not previously had a Newborn session. We also focus on the baby "lifting" their head and all of those adorable smiles!

Capturing your newly sitting baby (between 6-7 months), they're happy and expressive, and even proud of their newfound ability to sit on their own or assisted. At this time they will also love to lay on their bellies and, and may even love to roll on their back while sucking their little toes! These are such important milestones and a super cute  stage to capture!

When he/she is standing up (around 9-10 months) before he/she begins to walk would be the next best stage. At this age, they are either photographed standing on their own, or assisted by mom/dad or a prop!
At twelve months we can do anything you want, including a traditional "birthday" or cake smash session. We'll talk in detail before this session.

Do you offer Gift Certificates?
Yes! Photography is a wonderful gift to give anyone. They can also be the perfect baby shower or engagement gift, which is such a special, personal gift for this amazing time in one's life! You can purchase a sitting fee, baby plan, or dollar amount starting at $25 for print purchase.
